Field Tec Services is a full-service technical repair company. We provide services to the end user of both mobile equipment powertrain systems and stationary hydraulic systems in Northeast USA. Located in Muncy, Pennsylvania, we are a factory authorized Road-Tec service and rebuild center for Northeastern USA.

History

Field-Tec Services, located in Muncy, Pennsylvania, is a full-service technical repair company specializing in mobile equipment powertrain systems and stationary hydraulic systems across the Northeastern United States. As a factory-authorized service and rebuild center for Road-Tec, Field-Tec delivers industry-leading solutions to customers in the region. Founded in 1981 by Ben Eldred and Scott Appleman, both professors in the Heavy Equipment Technology program at Pennsylvania College of Technology, Field-Tec was born out of a passion for staying current with industry advancements. By working directly with equipment in the field, Eldred and Appleman were able to bring real-world insights back into the classroom, enriching their teaching while building a successful business.

In recent years, Field-Tec Services entered an exciting new chapter when Adam and Ryan Houseknecht, owners of Best Line Equipment, acquired the company. Under their leadership, Field-Tec has continued its growth, leveraging Best Line’s extensive resources while maintaining its commitment to exceptional service. Today, the company remains a trusted partner for technical repair and maintenance, poised for continued success for years to come. Field-Tec Services reached another significant milestone in 2024 when it became an authorized service and parts provider for ASTEC road construction equipment. This new partnership expands Field-Tec’s capabilities, allowing the company to offer even more specialized support to its customers in the road construction industry. With this addition, Field-Tec continues to enhance its reputation as a premier service provider, delivering top-tier solutions for a wide range of equipment needs throughout the Northeastern United States.

Who We Are

Providing quality service is personal. Along with their staff of skilled technicians, both Ben and Scott continue to play an integral role in the success of the business. With Ben overseeing management and marketing, Scott oversees technical support with the following certifications:
